As a student, job fairs are a vital part of your academic and career journey, offering you the opportunity to connect with employers, explore career paths, and gain insights into the job market. They also help you develop essential networking skills, which are crucial for securing internships, part-time jobs, or full-time positions. Prepare for The Job Fair

The Career Center is hosting in-person workshops the week before the fair to help you prepare! Stay tuned for more information.

Resume Review

Stop by for a quick 10–15 minute resume review with Career Center staff. During this one-on-one session, staff will provide personalized feedback and suggestions to help improve your resume and better position you for the roles you’re interested in.

To make the most of your review, it is recommended that you come prepared with a completed resume draft that aligns with the industry or type of position you’re seeking. Staff will help you identify ways to strengthen your content, formatting, and overall presentation.

Please note: These are brief resume review sessions (not a workshop or cover letter review), so come ready with specific questions or areas where you’d like feedback.

Job Fair Interview and Elevator Pitch Prep

Getting ready for the upcoming job fair and wondering how to make a strong impression with employers? Join us to learn practical strategies to help you feel confident and prepared. 

In this session, we’ll cover key interview techniques, including how to use the STAR method to answer behavioral interview questions, how to develop a strong elevator pitch to introduce yourself to employers, and tips for preparing effectively before meeting with recruiters at the job fair.

Some employers may also offer on-the-spot interviews during the job fair, so this is a great opportunity to practice your approach, learn what to expect, and get ready to showcase your skills and experience.

Dress to Impress: Preparing for the Job Fair

Getting ready for the job fair and wondering what to wear? Whether you’re meeting recruiters, networking with employers, or preparing for potential on-the-spot interviews, dressing professionally can help you make a strong first impression.

Join this workshop to learn essential styling tips for career fairs, understand what dress codes like “Business Casual” and “Business Professional” mean, and gain guidance on how to dress confidently and appropriately when meeting employers. We’ll also share tips on building a work-ready wardrobe that helps you present yourself professionally while showcasing your personal style.
