February 7, 2024What is Handshake? This is Fullerton College Career Center’s new online job board, which offers both on and off campus employment opportunities to students. Students can filter for full-time, part-time, and local positions, while also connecting with other students and employers on the platform. Students will also receive monthly emails with postings that align with their majors and interests.
This quick 30 minute session is geared toward students interested in diving deeper into the Handshake platform. The presenter will provide an overview of the platform and help run targeted job searches with you.

February 12, 2024Ready to write your resume? This 1 hour online lab is for students wanting to utilize LightCast software to create their resume. The presenter will share how to use the platform and provide extra tips on how to customize your resume.
In order to attend this lab, you should have:
a) already attended the Resume 101 webinar OR
b) are completing a class assignment using LightCast and already have the foundations of writing a resume under your belt OR
c) have watched the Resume Fundamentals video on Canvas and are interested in using the platform to create a draft of your resume.

Learn more about your interests, how these impact career choices, work environments, and what majors might be best aligned. In this Career Exploration Experience, modules have been created for students to progress through a series of steps, with the guidance of a career counselor, to explore careers and majors through to completing a purposeful Student Education Program Plan. This experience includes the following:
STEP 1: Complete the Strong Interest Inventory (SII)*
STEP 2: Attend Career Selection Webinar
STEP 3: Attend SII Interpretation Appointment with Career Counselor
STEP 4: Explore and Reflect
STEP 5: Follow Up Appointment with Career Counselor
STEP 6: Complete the Feedback Survey
*Strong Interest Inventory must be completed prior to the Webinar.
